Terms of Service

The service

Wayword provides online-only software for organising manuscript context and generating editorial copy, metadata suggestions, layout concepts, original cover directions, mockups and release media. It is not a publisher, printer, distributor or literary agent; it offers no publishing contract and does not collect royalties.

Eligibility and accounts

You must provide accurate account information and protect your credentials. Children under 13 may not use Wayword. Users aged 13–17 require parent or guardian consent. You are responsible for authorised users and activity under your account.

Subscriptions and USD billing

Paid plans renew monthly or yearly in USD until cancelled. Draft is free. Author is $19 monthly or $182 yearly. Studio is $74 monthly or $710 yearly. Allowances reset each billing period, do not roll over and are not stored value. Taxes may be added where required.

Author responsibility

You control editorial decisions and must verify facts, spelling, categories, keywords, originality, permissions, privacy, defamation risk and destination requirements. Layouts are starting templates. Before print production, verify trim, bleed, margins, colour, image resolution and font embedding with the chosen provider.

We do not guarantee acceptance, listing, production compatibility, reader response, sales or revenue.

Inputs and generated work

You retain ownership of your authorised inputs and generated work to the extent permitted by law. You grant the limited processing licence described in the Content License. You must not upload material you cannot lawfully process or use outputs to infringe copyright, trade marks, publicity, privacy or other rights.

Acceptable use and suspension

The Acceptable Use Policy forms part of these terms. We may limit or suspend access where reasonably necessary to address security, unlawful content, payment failure, excessive automated use or material breach, with notice where practicable.

Availability and liability

We use reasonable care to provide the service but do not promise uninterrupted generation or permanent availability of provider-hosted media. Nothing excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded. Subject to that, our aggregate liability arising from the service is limited to amounts you paid during the 12 months before the event, and we are not liable for indirect loss, lost sales, lost opportunities or author decisions based on generated suggestions.

Cancellation, termination and changes

You may cancel renewal at any time; access continues through the paid term. You may export work before account closure. We may update these terms for legal, security or product reasons and will give reasonable notice of material changes.

Governing law and contact

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction, subject to mandatory consumer rights and any right to bring a claim in your home jurisdiction. Contact support before filing a dispute so we can try to resolve it.
